I need to lay down some easy drum beats. Now this new Mixer that I have has a vst :?: and I'm lost there. I can hit drum notes and get sound,But Can i put this in to a drum beat on a track?? I need this to be as easy as posible..If buying a external drum machine with some prerecorded beats will work then thats what I will do. Or,can I get sample or pre done drum beats on a program??

And thanks In advance for all your help guys...this site Is great

Sampling's better IMHO, and you can get loads of free samples with magazines such as Computer Music.

I load samples into E-jay software, which can timestretch them into a different tempo, to create drumtracks.

I also have a drum machine (Yamaha DD-12). Everybody should have a drum machine. Turn up the volume and irritate the neighbours without having to have a big bulky drum kit in the room LOL

Best,

A :-)

I also have a drum machine. the presets are ok for the most part. programming what I want exactly is harder. I have rough times reading manual speak. I ran the machine through a delay for fun. crazy stuff.
I am looking into usable downloads.

I use PC Drummer Pro and am very happy with it. The sounds seem very realistic to me (I think they actually are sampled sounds) and it's very programmable or you can use premade beats and rythms. It isn't expensive at all, although I think there are some free drum machine programs out there, too.

I bought EZdrummer for $150.00 awesome. MIDI based but using real acoustic samples. Comes with thousands of loops which are fully editable and all samples can be played from a midi keyboard so you're not bound to the loops they have. You can easily make up your own beats.
