Hey everyone. I've got a question regarding conecting my V-Amp 2 to my computer. I have an E-MU Xmidi 1x1 USB interface that I run between the V-Amp and my laptop. Whenever I start the V-Amp software I get a message saying that I have to have MIDI Thru turned off in order for it to respond to scanning. Well I do have MIDI Thru turned off but I still continue to get the message. Also it seems that I don't even have a connection to the V-Amp in the first place because the library editor shows up blank instead of with all of the presets. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? The Behringer website gave me a little help but not much. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance! :D

Hi maddmodder

Try to change place of the midi input / output cables to the V-Amp2.

It helped for me..

hey guys -

sorry to resurrect an older topic...but I just encountered the same problem.

Have the "M-Audio Uno 1-In/1-Out USB Bus-Powered MIDI Interface" very similar to madmodder's.
Plug it all in...get "ERROR No MIDI Devices!?" message. Click "OK" as its the only option and then get another ERROR message:
"If you connect a device with its MIDI Thru function active, it cannot respond to scanning..."

My set up used to work properly and now I get these error messages!!

How do I turn off the "MIDI Thru" function? Also tried Kalle's suggestion but no luck there...

I'd appreciate any help!
:?

Hey there Kalle-

Yeah I did that. Still nothing. The connector indicates an active USB connection...but nothing on the MIDI. Wondering if the connector (which was barely used) is busted. Just odd that it was working fine from the start and now won't read the V-Amp2!!

Figured out the problem...

There was an issue with the "drivers" from the M-Audio USB/Midi device.
:x

Once updated and installed, all works fine.
:D

Hi forresal
Good to hear that you it working.
I myself is using a simple gameport-midi cable from soundcard to V-Amp2.

Thanks, Kalle-

So far my MIDI/USB connection just lets me edit and swap the patches from the PC to the V-amp2.
My laptop only has a "Mic In" jack rather than a "Line In" (despite what the specs may say -- could it be dual??).
So I will need to establish a better connection for recording.

:D

Hi Forresal
I think that mic input of your laptop also acts as a line in port.
If you open the windows sound record controls you wills probably find that you can select(activate) line in and de-select mic input.

Yeah, I saw that in my sound/volume controls, I have both a Line Input and Mic Input level settings. So I should "mute" the mic and have the line in open?
I'll give that a try...

Thanks for the help!!
