To go back to the valve thing:
HRD uses 6L6s - they are the "clean" brother to the EL34, often used to get an EL84 type of sound with EL34 output
Peavey Classic - EL84s
Traynor YVC40 - 5881s, very similar to the 6L6, but has slightly thicker tone
Ampeg Super jet - 6L6s
Epi Valve Standard - EL84s
Peavey Valveking - 6L6s

There's a definite lack of EL34 driven amps in the line-up.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

The bigger Marshalls are the more well-known EL34 amps. The plexi 50 and plexi 100 (aka Lead 50W and SuperLead 100W) use 2 or 4 EL34s respectively. The JCM800 also uses EL34s. The JTM-45 reissues use 5881s.

All of these amps are way way too loud for home use, without an attenuator.

That Traynor amp actually sounds really good, I had a chance to hear one up close I like to be
honest about what I hear for the money they are farily versitile, I could not build one
for that, we sell the ugly 18 for about 650.00 which is rock bottom for a hand wired amp
but there is no channel switching reverb... the traynor is a good value for sure
it all depends on what you want a buddy of mine in a cover band is happy with his blues deluxe
and I think that amp sounds good too..
