Hey everyone. I thought it might be a neat idea to get an idea of what kinds of settings you guys use for different types of songs. Also, settings for a specific bands sound. At first I thought this would be a thread just for the GMX110 so we could mention what kind of effects/presets/modes, but I think this would be more comprehensive if we just included all amps, and if you are using a modeling amp, mention what kind, and what settings.

Anyway, Im still messing around, and I have gotten pretty close to some bands, but nothing worth posting yet. :)

You can get a used Behringer V-Amp 2 from eBay for next to nothing and it would be an inexpensive way for you to play with MORE than the GMX110 has. I have the GMX210 and I really don't use it's settings. I have a bunch of effects pedals as well as the V-Amp. I have tones for AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, SRV, Randy Rhoads, Iron Maiden, etc. As long as you have the time to tinker with it you can come up with just about any sound you're looking for.

I have the GMX 212. The FX and controls are set up the same way I think. I like the Tweed>Hi gain> US setting for a fender twin, Blues setting. I use the fx preset on 4(reverb) or 20 (delay with reverb) Drive level depends on what I'm playing. I Usually have the low on 7, mid on 7 and high on 9. I find the 212 a bit dark if you don't kick up the high a bit. BTW I read that Johnny Winters has his treble on 10 and bass and mid on 0, I tried it and it actually sounded pretty cool 8) --the dog
