How can I replicate that sound ? I saw him in Dallas about 15 years ago, in a very intimate venue. He played a 6 string Rickenbacker electric guitar with some sort of pedal. I have been told it was called an octave pedal. I have gotten similar sound using chorus pedal but I really would like to know the easiest way to achieve that sound.

To get my electric 6 string to sound like a 12 string I use a tube pre-amp, compressor, expander, exciter, pitch transposer, low pass filter, reverb, AES (acoustic environment simulator), three equalizers, power amp, speakers.

He plays a seven string Martin. The G string has the octave string.
