For those who missed us, sorry it took so long to get the site back online today. This was a totally unexpected event that took a long time to fix. I've never seen anything like it before and I hope I never see it again.

You have not only my sympathy but my empathy. I am a systems admin and tech/ops support specialist on an IBM AS/400 (iSeries) network. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to reload a system from the microcode up to the o/s to the user and security data: I am talking terrabytes. And these systems are not supposed to fail!

Good job in recovering. I too hope that none of us ever has to do it again. I for one am getting too old for overnighters!

It is difficult to answer when one does not understand the question.

At least for me it wasn't an all nighter. I got a call on the Batphone at 6am and got to work right away. It kind of ruined my day but I'm not complaining. Life's what happens when you're busy making other plans. I can try extra hard to enjoy myself tomorrow.

Great job, thankx Paul 8)

Hope you don't have to try extra hard, and end up having twice as good a time

Great job getting it all back up and running. I'm sure that there are many GN members with computer experience who would have a pretty good idea what you must have been going through, and were feeling for you, and hoping it wasn't too painful. Glad that you got your life back, and that the Internet community got GN back so swiftly. :)

Cheers,

Chris
