hush, hush on the search engine.

Okay, I won't tell anyone. Oops! :D

Seems to me that it is Internet Explorer that is making the ads take up the top half of the page.

No problem at all using Firefox. As GN says, it must be an IE thing.

I'm sure that if I gave it a chance I'd like it, but I don't like change. Then again, I just flipped it back to the old style, so I have no complaints.

Our songs also have the standard pop format: Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, bad solo. All in all, I think we sound like The Knack and the Bay City Rollers being molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath.

You go away for a day and everythings changed :-)

I think the changes are great - especially the quick reply.

If the ads are taking up the top half of your screen, it's the size of your IE window. I don't have firefox on my work comp right this moment (gotta remedy that soon), so I pop open IE if I am going to be on the internet. When I didn't have the screen maximized, it took up the top half. When I made it a little bigger, it was just fine.

If you have it maximized, then your resolution is probably set fairly low.

With IE when the window is not wide enough the google ads on the right push the main body down. With Firefax that does not happen. So it is something about the way IE is handling relative positioning of either tables or boxes.

I am at 1280x800 and my window width is open about 3/4 of the screen so I don't see the problem until I make the window around half the width of the actual screen.

It took me a few days to come around, but I'm really starting to like it :D The only problem is having to scroll down 1/2 page past the adds. Nice job :D --the dog

I don't mind the new look and I have a full screen............BUT it is the advertisement stuff on the right side overlayed on everything preventing me from reading the right side of the screen.

Where is the old skin thing?????? Maybe it is under the advertisment stuff?

:?:

If it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing.

Go into your profile and the skin option is near the bottom.

Or go to a higher resolution like 1024x768 or higher and it should solve the problem.

lol Paul, you weren't the only one. I was keeping quiet as well. I just don't like change, the new design seemed too busy, so I switched it back to guitarnoise.

Nil's that is the first place I went to look for it. It is just not there.

Thanks anyway though.

Perhaps you selected the Profile at the bottom of your message - that is the public profile.

Your own provate Profile is selected near the top, under the main GN logo.

I made that mistake the first time I tried to change back myself...

AHHH...I see you have been visiting CyberAlien's site...he make's great styles. I use the Morpheus style on my physical education site (see my sig for link). If you ask his permission he usually will let you customize his styles to fit the theme of your site...

If you need a hand with any design stuff let me know. I am definitely no expert but I can tweek a few things!

I'm not a fan of it, but I can change it so I'm happy.
