Another Bluesman passes - RIP "Little" Milton
JACKSON, Miss.
Bluesman Little Milton Campbell is dead. Campbell died today of complications from a stroke. He was 70.

Campbell came to fame in the 1950s, playing what was then called "black music." His songs -- which included "I'm a Lonely Man" and "The Blues Is Alright" -- were known for their gritty feel and pleading vocals.

He suffered a stroke last week. A close friend and a producer of Campbell's Grammy-nominated album "Welcome to Little Milton" said the musician had slipped into a coma over the weekend.

A member of the Blues Hall of Fame, Campbell was still performing, and had last appeared at an Allman Brothers Band concert in May.

The Mississippi native was named after his father, Big Milton, who was also a blues musician.

Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

What a drag... he did the best version of "We Gonna Make It" that I've ever heard.

Another 10-15 years and they will all be gone, Buddy, B.B all the greats who brought the music up to chicago from deep down south. Gonna be a poorer world without them

Great musicians may die, but they leave something behind that's bigger than they are. Many many people have a love for music that never would have been if it werent for these guys. All I hope is that when they go, they go knowing that they touched many, many lives.

Our songs also have the standard pop format: Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, bad solo. All in all, I think we sound like The Knack and the Bay City Rollers being molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath.
