From ABC News:
German Rock Band Scorpions to End Career
The German rock band Scorpions is bringing down the curtain on a career spanning more than four decades.
It said it would end its career with a final album — "Sting In The Tail," to be released in March — and a tour that will start in Germany in May and take it across the world "over the next few years."
T'was a good band.
I like it. Take a page out of the Stones and others' book of retirement. Retirement means more music (an album) and a noic big long tour so that everyone has a chance to see 'em. Go out with a bang, so to speak.
I wonder what my boss would think if I announced my retirement 3 years from now, but plan to re-write our entire company's database schema into a much cleaner, quicker and dependable environment before I go.

"I wonder if a composer ever intentionally composed a piece that was physically impossible to play and stuck it away to be found years later after his death, knowing it would forever drive perfectionist musicians crazy." - George Carlin
When they recorded the last album (a couple of years ago?), I read they are starting to think about the end. Probably the latest albums weren't like the others but it is very difficult to create twice something like Wind of Change, Holiday or Blackout.
Anyway, they announce a "spectacular world tour" and usually they come here.
That's too bad. The band rocks and I think Matthias Jabs is a great guitar player. I saw them many times back in the day (yes the 80's) and I still love many of their tunes. Just the other day I heard rock you like a hurricane on a cracker TV commercial! Man times have really changed... :D
