Having just yesterday decided to take my baby strat on a flight, I should be a lil worried. but I think I can get it on as hand luggage (esp if I take the neck off and put the two pieces in a smaller bag).
Sorry about the guitar, however love the concept, hope it gets so many views they have to take action. Alas it will only help sales of the tickets I think.

I'm sure all the other airlines are pretty ticked at the fuss United is causing them now.
These days airlines charge customers extra for everything. You have to pay to check your bags a lot of the time. What's the extra money going towards? It doesn't seem to be improving the service. I guess it might help the guy who broke your guitar keep his job a little longer.

I for sure can never put my guitar in the check in baggage for this very reason. The guitar's got to be in cabin or else there will be "X-Airline broke my guitar...."
