Nice keyboard!!

I have an old Casio thinger that has been around about 20+ years. First one that actually had somewhat of weighted keys.

When I realized the learning curve involved to write my songs on the keyboard, I whole heartedly embraced the guitar, since I had some what of a clue as to what I was doing with that instrument.

Enjoy your new ivories.
I got one of those too, I think it's still upstairs in the closet. Same size as my new Yamaha and cost me $200 at the time. No where near the instrument this thing is though. I think I kind of hung that one up out of frustration cause it was so much easier to just play the guitar. I think I'm ready to learn now though. I won't be a concert pianist but if I can add some keys to my music I'll be happy.

i've been wanting a keyboard. craigslist always has a lot of people posting their old ones. maybe....

Why to get old when you can have brand new yamahas in 200-250 $ range online ?

$200-$250 is a lot of money! they practically give those things away on Craigslist...

OK, so it's been a week. Don't be too critical, but I have been working on Blue Oyster Cult's Astronlmy. Here is what I can do so far. This thing sure aint a guitar. Waaaaay out of my comfort zone. You can hear my bad singing as I sang while I played.

The keyboard sounds fine to me, keep it. I know from first hand experience what a hard job it is to play piano and sing - I've always found it much harder than playing guitar and singing. I really don't know the song though - BOC never did a thing over here in the UK, took 'em till about 1978 (and several re-issues, at that!) to have a hit with "Don't Fear The Reaper," and I honestly don't remember ever hearing anything else by them!

Sounds like you've taken to the keys OK though.

:D :D :D

Thanks Vic! So then your telling me I could have told you I wrote that and gotten away with it? Actually Metallica covered that one a few years back.

That sounds pretty good to me. Did you take lessons when you were younger?

Thanks Ken! No lessons, just bought the thing, got out my guitar and figured what notes made what chord and went from there. It isn't easy though, but I'm having fun. 8)

You got a great deal, I bought the same keyboard about 9 months ago for $189. It's more than sufficient for my needs. I might go buy another one because my son has stolen mine to use in his band.

I'm still waiting for B.O.C.'s album "Imaginos" to be re-released. I got it by accident in 1988 (my mom bought it, confusing B.O.C. with The Cult) and loved it. It contains a new version of "Astronomy" and "Subhuman" (retitled "Blue Oyster Cult"). I lost the cassette long ago and it's been out of print for years. That album got me into BOC beyond "Reaper" and "Burnin' For You."

I found it for you! :D http://www.musicstack.com/listings.cgi?find=blue_oyster_cult&t=imaginos&media=All

I've ordered a lot of out of print vinyl from these people. Products are always good, delivery is always prompt. With some of them you can get both vinyl and CD, some just vinyl, some just CD. Check it out!

:D

EDIT: I also found it here.... http://www.amazon.com/Imaginos-Blue-%C3%96yster-Cult/dp/B000008DKN
