Hi
Shaun continues to do well. He is speaking now And his sense of humor
has returned. He is still in Albany Rehab has been postpone for a few
more day to give him more time to recover from his surgery. As of this
writing he still has a feeding tube but is craving solid food. Jello, soup,
and sherbert is not the greatast diet and he keeps asking for a
McDonald's Happy Meal. His cousin/best friend (10 year old Zachary)
visited over the weekend and that made his day. He has also had a
couple visits from his brother(3 year old Jaden). He was so cute he
took all Shaun's stuffed animals and piled them on top of him. This
made Shaun laugh. His speach is still a little slow and soft but we are
told this will improve with time and therapy.
The Rehab hospital has been in touch and everthing is going smoothly
there and he should be moving soon. From the look of things it will not
be a long stay and when he is ready for outpatient we have a very
good facility here in town.
Gunslinger,
Thanks for the offer of the games but he has plenty of his favorites and I am a complete idiot when it come to gaming so I
couldn't tell you which ones he like anyways.
thanks
John
Great update.
Thanks, John.

We are off to Boston tommorrow. Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital
comes highly recomended and is everybodies first choice.
The only down sides are Shaun will be 2 to 3 hours away and
I hate driving in Boston.
Oh well you do what you have to do
John
Yep, you do. Glad to hear things are looking up.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW--What a Ride!"
He may be 2 or 3 hours drive for the family, but he is at the starting line to the rest of his life.
I for one am routing on him to win the race.
So glad to hear that Shaun's improving so well.

Excellent news....
He may be 2-3 hurs away, but I'm willing to bet he still gets plenty of visitors... looking forward to more progress reports!!!
:D :D :D

Thank You All,
The transfer went well and Shaun in settling into his new digs.
We are working on a rotating schedule with his Dad and his
paternal Grandparents so everybody get time to visit and time
to rest. That way we only have to drive half as much.
( I hate driving in Boston ) I have had to do this before with my
daughter being in Massachusetts General which is right next door.
It's a long trip but worth it.( I Hate driving in Boston)
Today was a long day and I will have to make the trip again tomorrow
with my lovely wife Karen offering to drive ( I Really Hate driving in Boston)
I hope traffic is better because today it was even
worse than usual. ( Did I mention I HATE driving in
Boston)
Sorry, I'm just blowing off steam after a very long day.
Shaun is in the best place for him and that is what's most important.
We will do what we have to do to help him heal.
( But I still don't enjoy driving in Boston)
John
Hey John,
I've never been to Boston, what's the driving like?
(j/k, couldn't resist)
