an old JJ Cale tune from around the turn of the 70's :D This is with pbee on vocals , I recorded the guitar and bass on the tascam 4-track and every thing else on the PC. I used my epiphone Valve Head, Cry Baby and my Artisan lap steel on the slide part .--the dog
i'm a huge JJ C fan, love this song. great job. maybe a little rushed at times but you nailed the tone and the vocals were great also.

Nice Job Guys,
I love Cale and you managed to catch to essence of his recordings
on this one.
The rhythm track and the vocals are perfect. The slide seems a
little up front to me. Not a big deal I just think it would sound more
like J.J. if it was backed off a little.

Thanks guys, I posted Crazy Momma 2 with the slide lowered a tad and the tempo cut back 4% to make it seem more laid back. take your pick :D
Wow -- outta the past! That was cool. I worked as a stereo tech in college and Cale's "Naturally" was one of my test records.
Now a request: Clyde from the same album.
-=tension & release=-
2 gets my vote  great job

Thanks Greg, I will check out "Clyde" . I must admit, i did Crazy Momma mostly from memory, I found about 30 seconds of the original to go with. The cry baby slide was very hard to do justice to. 8) Crazy Momma is one of my favorite songs of all times :D --the dog
I vote for 2 also
And for all you JJ Cale fans here's a site you may find interesting:

Glad ya liked it :D I redid the slide part after I sent you the first version last week. I decided to go with a cleaner sound, I thought that sounded alot better. The only thing about Crazy Momma 2 is I think slowing the tempo makes the bass and rhythm guitar sound a bit strange. I reduced the tempo with an effect on audacity.
To be honest I didnt notice anything wrong with the bass or rhythm with the slower tempo and its only cos you've mentioned it that Ive gone looking for it, but dont think theres anything to worry about. Its much better slower. Actually when I was rehearsing the song I used the original, and when you sent me the backing track I thought hmmm thats a bit faster, oh well he knows what hes doing 8) .
Paul
And thanks Twisted and John for the feedback on the vocal
