So a certain Mr Parker asked for fave 70's 80's and 90's songs a few weeks ago - what about the 60's? After all, that's the decade when rock'n'roll grew up.....it might have started in the 50's, but for me the 60's was THE finest decade ever for music.

Just a few off the top of my head.....

Runaway - Del Shannon, 60
Honky Tonk Women - Stones, 69
Proud Mary - CCR, 68
Yardbirds - Heart Full Of Soul, 65
Pretty Flamingo - Manfred Mann, 66
Go Now - Moody Blues, 65
Pinball Wizard - Who, 68
Help From My Friends - Joe Cocker, 68
Jumping jack Flash - Stones, 68
Anything by the Beatles, 62-66
Waterloo Sunset - Kinks, 67
Bad Moon Rising - CCR, 69
Sun Ain't Gonna Shine - WalkerBros, 66
You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' - Righteous Bros, 65
Goin' Back - Dusty Springfield, '66
Mr Tambourine Man - Byrds, 65

I better stop now before I get carried away - haven't even mentioned Thunderclap Newman's "Something In The Air" yet....

:D :D :D

The Band - Music From Big Pink, 67-68
The Searchers - Needles and Pins (From Liverpool 8) ), 1964

Whole albums, and whole band catalogues isn't that too easy? ;-)

What about top 3 60s song - difficult

It's not me babe - Dylan
Unfaithful Servant - the Band
Here comes the sun - the Beatles

edit - Really unsure about this - and I wasn't even born

...only thing I know how to do is to keep on keepin' on...

There's one performer that I've just got to put in here - Dave Edmunds, a real rock & roller.
1960s hit with Love Sculpture: Sabre Dance.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

Oh, dear................

I would never forgive myself if one of the greatest rock bands of the 60s and 70s was not mentioned - The Who.
Anything from the Live at Leeds album - even though it was recorded in 1970, all the songs originated in the 60s (as far as Who versions are concerned).

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

in 1968 anyone who came near a highschool or college football field in the US had to have heard the marching band arrangement of Jesse James' "The Horse" a backing track for a song he penned called "Love Is All Right"

I was wondering about you recently, Ron. Hope all is well. It's nice to not be the lone 'Stones promoter in these parts. :)
