Here's a heap of pictures of a work-in-progress custom carved solid body electric.

IMHO, the carving is well done, but as a guitar it's pretty over the top

That's some serious carving!

I agree. The carving is really good, but who would play something like that? I'd want to hang it on a wall!

That is ultra-intricate! (Now say that five times fast)

My computer almost blew up from trying to load all of those pictures. The guitar was cool looking but it doesn't seem like it would be very comfortable to play. Definetly put that thing on the wall, is this yours kent_eh???

A fine work of art and no mistake.

I'd be a bit concerned about the quill part - it looks like it would be quite easy to snap it off with the slightest knock. I'm sure that's not the case but it just looks like it to me.

Apart form that it's a beautiful instrument.

I'd be too scared to play it though.

Wow! I really like the inlays. The whole thing is over the top for a guitar, but would look great on the wall. I would be afraid to play it...

I did say there was a heap of 'em. :P

is this yours kent_eh???

Goodness, no.

I'm not that much of an attention hound.
I prefer my no-nonsense '70s Korean Les Paul knockoff.

It belongs to this guy.

He was showing it off in one of the usenet guitar groups, and I thought it might be fun to see what GNers thought.

Even though it's a neat piece of art, I can't see how it would be comfortable to play..

I wish he would post a video of him playing with "Juliet"!

Hopefully I'm not the only one who thinks that looks like a complete waste of time.

Used to be, was a part of me felt like hiding.. but now it comes through. Comes through to you.
