Vic!!!! :D
Glad to see ya bro.

Great stories - Thankx.

I really like the second story.
I got my acoustic ( a 91 Ovation Custom Balladeer (USA) w/cedar top and hardshell case ) Because a pub mate of mine
at the time was gunna pawn it. He already had his strat plus in pawn, and was begging me to buy that so that he knew
it had a nice home.
He sold me the Ovation for 200 (US). It was A 1000 with the case when new. :D

You weren't talking about a Vox AC-30 from the 60's were you?????????

"You weren't talking about a Vox AC-30 from the 60's were you?????????" No - by that time, the mid 80's, you couldn't get a Vox AC 30 for love nor money. Aren't they the amps the Beatles used on stage? Like this one?

The one I had was a brand-new amp - looked a lot more modern than the one in the photo. And a lot smaller, too!

:D :D :D

OMG - I thought that was a picture of your gear Vic!!!!
It took me a few before my heart started again

Yes, quite right - the Beatles amp.
I think John favored the Vox AC-15.

Still can't get a real one for love or money :(

Thankx,

LMAO - I wish it was my gear! No those beauties are in the Cavern Pub, on the other side of Matthew Street from the re-built Cavern Club. Loads of rock memorabilia in there, I usually make it my first port of call when I'm in Liverpool. Probably have to go there soon - I need to stock up on strings again, and my local music shop's recently closed.

In the meantime, here's another pic to drool over.....these are the guitars Sir Paul and Dave Gilmour played the night Macca played the Cavern in 1999.

:D :D :D
