I'm succumbing to the need to wall mount my guitars, and will be picking up a bunch of hangers for this online. I doubt there's a great deal of difference beyond price, but just in case....
any recommends? here's my "list of options" - http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&q=guitar%20hanger&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=if&start=0
bascially, are there any so crappy I should avoid them like the plague? and are any of the more costly ones really worth the expense? thanks guys.
I am a little timid in hanging guitars. I would recommend guitar stands like this one.
Its cool to look at a wall with guitars hanging at a shop though..but hehe they aren't mine.
That's one seriously tasty practice space Laz! I'm drilling into brick, so there'd be no studs, nor any need to mount a board...
right? :?
I ain't got non o' dem, I got dis wun http://cgi.ebay.de/K-M-16280-Gitarren-Wandhalter-schwarz_W0QQitemZ180385766094QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAllgemeines_Musikinstrumente_Zubehör?hash=item29ffd45ace&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
The more weight you put on the hanger, the more the arms pull together.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

if drilling into brick for more than two or three guitar hangers, I'd seriously consider putting up a board a la mode d'Laz, cuz I wouldn't want to drill any more holes than abs necessary directly into brick.
I have String Swing, Off-the-Wall and Hercules types. all are fine.

:D Thanks! :D
For ease of future installation in block like that, I run board around my entire basement wall for mounting anything into. It is much easier that drilling into cement all the time!
Laz - I believe I have a Peavey head that is identical to the one in your pic! The prev. owner installed a key switch in place of the power switch, and painted the metal corners white - different strokes for different folks, I guess...
But it is a killer head, tons of power, great sound. :)
Good idea, I might pinch that (esp as I want to hang some other stuff of some of the walls too), thanks kat!
I'm trying to find one, like in a guitar store, that turns it sideways.
I would be careful about hanging a guitar on a wall; especially a brick one...very rough surface.
another more important consideration is which wall? inside or outside wall? a wall that has an outside surface
has a temperature difference from the inside air. the back of the guitar has one temp the front another.
trouble lurks.

I have one similar to that, but the electric is the only one that will fit into it "cradled". I have these
for the acoustics. I won't wall mount any, but I do need to raise them up somehow to keep them out of the clutches of the ferret and puppies. Or I can keep taking them off the stands to lay on the bed.
It is difficult to answer when one does not understand the question.

my floor model that looks like that holds my Martin acoustic (GTE16 dread). just fits with no room to spare.
These are the ones I use. They are great so far and I have them anchored to the wall studs, 16" centres seem to be fine. Could not use floor stands for 10 axes but use a couple for the guitars I am using at the time.

Yeah, it's the owning guitars in the double digits that's making the prospect of having a floor stand for each one rather impractical for me.
