finally figured out what these remind me of <wavy transition to back when smoking was acceptable> one of our scouting projects was an ashtray made from spiral windings of colored paper tape. wind it. press into 3-D "bowl" shape. lacquer to fix the shape. give to dad. find it in the attic 30 years later.

That's exactly what I was thinking. That and "this guitar hurts my eyes".

I've seen some laminate gun stocks that look pretty nice; however, this guitar finish is awful! I believe what the problem is for me is that the design doesn't "flow"; At the tail end of the guitar, it makes that goofy looking, sharp triangular shape & or me that knocks the whole scheme off...

I like them all! And would have any one of them and be ecstatic! If they don't sell well, I may be there for the clearance sale! :D

It doesn't flow. It isn't supposed to flow! It's suppose to clash and thrash.

I have told my (recently acquired) wife that I want one for Christmas. She said she'd look around. (Whether for a Gibson dealer or an anulment, she didn't mention.)
