Oh for all the drummers " I ..... WILL.....TRANSLATE ( PUT IT ENGLISH )....LATER....... FOR...... YOU "

I might have even mentioned horn players in there as well ??????

Don't worry Nick no offensive language is mentioned

So drummers take heart, a french horn, banjo, harmonica, crumhorn playing guitarist couldn't translate it either.

I really must learn a second language. I feel so American.

Hey Bish, I may be getting off topic here, whatever that was, but have you ever played the Yamaha DD55?

I want something I can use for backing, don't want a full size set and don't want to spend two grand on midi drums.

I've seen the set setup with real peddles which seems to make a lot of difference. Anyway, maybe I'll create a new post for this topic.

Reminds me of an old joke:

Speak three languages = Trilingual
Speak two languages = Bilingual
Speak one language = American :)

Nick, I haven't used that one. Here's the only one I've used and only in on-stage conditions.

I haven't had the time to play with it leasurely.

I think for the price if the sounds are what you want (not leaning one way or the other, here) that is going to be one unit that will be hard to compete against. Plus if you get it through MF you can always return it if it doesn't meet your requirements.

I would test the samples to ensure they don't sound too processed. Roland has got that figured out pretty nicely.

I'd be curious as to your satisfaction level if you try one out. Any updates would be great.

Thanks for asking, Nick. Sorry I couldn't be more informative.

Nick, I have a dd-50 ( pretty much the same thing) on loan from my brother-in-law. I use it once in a while, but you have to play it manually( that can be fun :D ) or it has pre-programed rhythms, most of which i don't find that useful for the music i play. you might look at something like this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/700289/
I have a friend that uses a similar device for recording and practice and he seems to like it--the dog

Are tambourine players and flute recorders fair game?

Edit by Nick:

I don't care about the Yoko part, but stereotyping groups of people by country of origin, race or religion is off limits here.

Bass players are fair game though. :D
Lets not forget Drummers and French Horn players

I too used to make fun of French Horn players remembering the "gurgle horns" from high school band. However, after seeing Mahler's 1st performed live, I've got say, French Horns rock!

Drummers...well, I've played drums longer than guitar, and I've played guitar for a long time...
