Hi, im so new to guitar that i feel shy, to even dicuss a matter on this page. But I will anyway :D .

I bouhg "Rock Band 3" the VideoGame, (I know must people here hate this kind of stuff) but to me i feel like im learnig. I have a little over a month playing every day with a real guitar (The one that is made for the game) a Squier Stratocaster made by fender, and I realize how really hard is to play guitar, and now i admire you all.

By now i have callouse on my fingers, now I know how to do a G, D and C Chord, can play at a low Speed (80% According to the Game) Beatifull people of Marilyn Mason, and know working to leanr "Battle of the Pink Robots Part 2" that, to me, is a really hard song.

So this is my question. In just having fun or im truly learning skills to play guitar and what you guys think about learning this way?

I tried Rock Band. I sucked at it. the guitar you get to play with has buttons. I am so used to strings and frets that I could not manage the play guitar at all.
I am not sure what you mean by the real guitar made for the game. does it have strings?
if it works for you then have at it.
IMO, learning to play a real guitar through lessons and playing with others is the best way to learn.
as to having fun; absolutely, learning to plat a real guitar is fun and challenging, but oh so rewarding.

It looks like the new one (Rockband 3) has a 'Pro' mode, for which there are two guitars, one a real fender squier with some way of interfacing to the console and the other a 'button' guitar with a button at each string position at each fret and six separate 'strums'. So it sort of works as a guitar trainer, sounds interesting. Haven't played Rock Band in a while, but Rock Band 1 was sort of what persuaded me to start learning guitar in the first place.

Apparently it's a real (though heavily modified) guitar that you can plug into the game or into a normal amp.

Interesting.
Still waiting to see how Rocksmith does.
It uses any guitar that you have as a controller for the game.
If it works well, then they're getting pretty close to the technology needed for automatic transcription software.
