Just heard this guy today from Australia, GOTYE, I really like this song.

Not sure if the girl Kimbra is from Australia too but I love how she gets into the song and she has a great voice
"It's all about stickin it to the man!"
It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
Suprised no one else is feeling this song, I love it

Definitely like it a lot!
I'd never heard this song before this past Monday, when a friend of mine suggested I check out this cover of it:

Thanks for this link to the original artist. Now I've got two terrific versions to serve as templates for an arrangement!
Peace
Hey Dave there are two guys from I think Germany that do an awesome aucostic version I'll post the link.
But I love this version with Gotye and Kimbra I've listened to a bunch of their music they don't play together except for this and both are awesome.

Thats a cool song cnev. Ive never heard it. The female singer kinda reminds me of a modern day Kate Bush.
David, MAN that cant be easy!!! third guy from the right, playing whith what works out to be a moveable bridge!!! LOTS of pratice there! Thanks both of you for posting it

Great song. :D
The guy's name is Wally De Backer and he's been around for a while in other bands. He's also in one called The Basics.
The official clip for the song is well worth watching too Somebody That I Used to Know. Wally and Kimbra clad mostly in paint....
A friend of a relative of a friend of mine (that's Australia for you... ) is apparently his girlfriend. She's a singer too, but not the one in the video. He must be a brave man if he could tell his singer girlfriend that she wasn't going to get to sing that song. :)
Kimbra is an Australian artist though and I think they're both based in Melbourne. There was a feature article on him in Issue 84 of Audio Technology magazine.
Cheers,
Chris
Very weel done - both the vid and the song.
Here's an interesting version, 5 people sharing one guitar:

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
