Freebird solo just kills me everytime, though I think Stairway is a better song. Shows the power of repeating licks :D The first solo in "Walk this way" is also pretty good, as is the one is "last child." Whitford is such an unsung guitar hero.
"Contrary to popular belief, Clapton is NOT God. The prospect that he is God probably had a large hand in driving him to drugs and booze. Thanks everyone."

Diceman already said it, but it bears repeating -
November Rain by Guns 'n Roses.
Slash had some great moments with G'n'R, but I think that his most melodic work of anything they'd ever tackled. I still get chills every time I listen to that song, and even way back in fourth grade, I knew if I could ever play guitar, I wanted to be as cool as Slash was in the video for the song.
...still working on that cool part. :P
Henry Garza, Saul Hudson, and Darrell Abbott could not be here tonight, but they all had sex and are proud to announce the birth of their two-headed baby, Rodya S. Thompson.

Pink Floyd- Comfortably Numb
I jsut love listening to this, even though it's not that fast, David Gilmour just plays the most amazing things. I've always loved his solos. _(listen to the live versions, where the solo is alot better than the one on The Wall)
The Eagles- Hotel California
I first heard this when I was seven, and it's been etched into my mind. It jsut fits in perfectly, and is just awesome overall. Ever since 7, if i ever played the guitar, I would wanna play things like this
Jeff Beck did the solo on hurdy gurdy man.
Anything by Hubert Sumlin, this man put the "B" in blues
Buddy Guy's solo on "Damn right I got the blues"
Johnny Winter on "Still Alive and Well"
Jeff Beck "Goodbye Porkpie Hat"
Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

Just add Randy Rhoads' first solo on "Mr. Crowley" and you have my top three of all time. Still a good many years from playing that last one though...
