I didn't see it but apparently this was the set list:

I'm So Glad
Spoonful
Outside Woman Blues
Pressed Rat and Warthog
Sleepy Time Time
Deserted Cities of the Heart
Born Under a Bad Sign
Badge
NSU
Stormy Monday
Rollin' and Tumblin' (Jack on harmonica only, no bass, Eric on guitar,
Ginger on drums)
Politician
Sweet Wine
We're Going Wrong
Crossroads (fast version!)
Sitting On Top Of The Wolrd
White Room (Eric did some of the "high" parts that Andy and Nathan have been
doing in his solo tours)
Toad (an amazing 5-10 minute Ginger drum solo)
encore: Sunshine of Your Love

Clapton played a strat, no Gibson unfortunately.

More importantly, Jack and Ginger got in a fist fight and refuse to play with each other again. OK, I made that part up.

You would have thought..all the guitarists here..and ones that live in the UK...I tried to get tickets..and I live in the USA..The original Cream..not "Metallica", or other cookie-cutter bands..would've been great...Guess I gotta settle for the DVD...

Well, let's see, tickets sold out for all four shows in like 2 hours then were going for outrageous prices on eBay, etc. I love Cream, but even if I were living in the UK I don't know if I would have been willing to pay what those tickets were going for. My guess is a lot of the tickets got to people who are "in the know" rather than your regular Cream fan.

Anyone know if they're coming to the US?

I heard a rumor of a rumor that they were, and, gosh, if I wouldn't sell my guitars to see that. . .

To have lived in the golden age of rock and have seen it first hand. It's a shame now that it's so hard to get into the great, legendary shows. It was even impossible to get in to see Paul McCartney!

But Cream, ah, that would be a once in a lifetime thing

Dream on. . . I dream my life away, dreaming, dreaming. . . :(

I posted a couple of websites/telephone numbers in the news forum a good few weeks ago....and as of last week there were STILL Cream tickets being advertised in the Sunday papers.....

These were all advertising on May 1st....I'm not sure when the concerts finish, but I'll bet there are still some left....

Just got done listening to some recordings from one of the shows. Fantastic stuff. Recording quality wasn't the best, but was enough for me to get a feel for it. I'm so jealous of anyone who got to go. Some of the songs felt like I was listening to 60s Cream. I was skeptical about Eric's choice of using the Fender, but he got a strong Gibson-like tone in the songs. (I forget what amp I read that he's using but it's not a Fender). Spoonful and Sleepy Time Time were especially reminiscent of the old Cream sound. Crossroads was a bit of a letdown for me, but then again it's kind of hard to match the original (Cream's original version that is). Jack's voice still has that strong sound and his playing on bass was powerful. I really know nothing at all about drumming, but to me Ginger sounded great on the skins. Now I really hope they do at least a few shows in the US. I might be willing to make a road trip in that case. Arggh! I wish I could have been there.

I know we've said this before, but:

Rumor has it that they'll be making a DVD out of this, so we aren't all totally lost.

I think in that Clapton at 60 interview, he said they wouldn't be contuining the tour in the states or anything, because they all have other things they are trying to do.

Haha, they'd be crazy not to make a DVD!
And by the way, StormyMonday, where did you hear the recordings??

i was there on friday...

here's what i recorded
http://www.voodoo9.co.uk/badge.mov

the show was tremendous.

EC playing was fantastic - who cares that he didn't use a gibson into marshalls...his tone was tremendous!

Ginger...'pressed rat and warthog' - loved it!!!
a nice touch from the show was that when ginger was doing his solo on toad, clapton and bruce left the stage and sat on two stools in the wings....clapton had his daughter (maybe aged 4-5) sat on his knee....six minutes later he gave her a kiss, put her down, walked on stage on finished the song.

jack bruce - 'we're going wrong' sent shivers down my shivery spine! Smoking bass lines all night and voice was great. boy can he blow some mean harp. rolling and tumblin' was a highlight for me.

hope they do some studio time in 2005... it'd be a loss to music if they don't.

my favourite tune from the night (i think!)
hey now baby, get into my big black car!!!
da nah, da nah, danna danna da nah.

also!!!!!
i met Jimmy Page (we entered the same door together) - shook his hand and said "Well done Jimmy" - doh!

Big Al,

Sounds like you had an awesome time. Very cool. Thanks for the clip.

xg5a,

I downloaded a torrent (can't remember what site though) of the 5/5 show that has by now I'm sure hit many of the other BitTorrent sites.
