I did a search and nothing came up, so what are your favorite strings, and what size, and why. :?:
reason im asking is im a newbie to guitars and kinda clueless about what strings i should get
Ernie Ball Super Slinkys 9,11,16,24,32,42. mostly because i 've used them since 1974  I get a good tone out of them, they don't break a lot, and they feel right to me, again, I've used them since watergate, so any thing else would feel a bit off to me  --the dog
Regular Slinky (10s)
-=tension & release=-
Acoustic - Elixirs (nanoweb) 11's (Custom lights)
Electric - D'Addario 10's
I like 10's on electric and 11's on the acoustic so there is less difference when I switch
i'm with the dog-- ernie ball super slinkies
D'Addario 9's are my favorites....just love the feel.

What an idiot that Nils is. This is a question on electric strings and he answers acoustic and electric
Actually I think I gave my stock answer for "what are your favorite strings" without thinking
Fender Super Bullets, 11's (Strat) because I like the tone and feel.
Gibson Brite Wires, 10's (Epi) because I don't want anything to happen to the neck otherwise they would be 11's as well.
I like both because they are different and so are my guitars and they seem to accentuate that fact.
Thought about Elixir's but, haven't done so yet. Besides, the price went up for there acoustic strings by 3 or 4 dollars!!!

I used gibson strings back in the early 70's, they had a nice bright sound, but at the time the qaulity was inconsistant and the windings came loose on the 3rd and 4th strings( they have fixed that problem since then)

Yes, they do break through the mix. IMO they are great for blues.
I've been using D'Addario's for as long as I can remember. Never really experimented with other strings, although now I think I will.
D'Addario 9's on my Fender Strat
Gibson Brite Wires 9's on my Epi Les Paul
I will go with Ernie Ball Super Slinkies on the Strat sometimes too

Flat wound 14's on the hollow body
round wound 14's on the solid bodies
Was going to go for 12's, but found these in a dusty bin and love the sound.

D'Addario 10's/11's
or Ernie ball 10's

Lately I've been using GHS burnished strings, which are supposed to be better at approximating the 60s guitar tone. Not sure about that though. I use 9s on one guitar and 10s on the other.
