Hey...GREAT string of posts, everybody!
Thinking about it...everyone's seemingly talking about themselves...and what others think about it all. An "apartness" (is that a word???) I've been playing with THE SAME people for thirty-odd years. Straight from high school, really. We stunk way back then, too...mightily! But slowly, slowly we came into our own. We live all over the globe, now...and thanks to the internet...we can still get together to make a living.
I do think THAT is what "your ideal music life" should end up looking like: great friends. (I have four godchildren in there somewhere, too!) They are able to look you in the eye and cut through all your BS and pretences...and to offer a shoulder when needed. These ebbs and flows are a good resource base for writing and just getting on with "life, everything and understanding #42".
