Can anyone recommend an instructional book on fingerstyle playing?
Not really sure what level I am at (Advanced Beginner?).
I have learned a few fingerstyle songs from Dave Hodge's lessons- Blackbird, Fields of Gold, etc... For me these lessons have been a great help in learning the fundamentals - especially fingering techniques.

In this order (IMHO):
1. Beyond Basics Fingerstyle Guitar by Mark Hanson (this might be a little on the easy side for you, so check it out at your local music store first)
2. Art of Contemporary Travis Picking by Mark Hanson
3. Beginning Fingerstyle Blues Guitar by Arnie Berle and M. Galbo
4. Fingerstyle Guitar by Ken Perlman
3 and 4 are actually about the same level, but I find Perlman's book goes a lot faster in hurling you towards advanced technique, where 3 is a more slow and steady approach. Â After doing 3, 4 is a good refresher and a big help on some more advanced technique.

Many thanks for the recommendations- I will check those out.
