Haia guys,

Just bought myself a Rondo SX lapsteel ( http://www.rondomusic.com/LG1na.html ) , very happy with that thing, can't play lapsteel that great but played my whole life on guitars and wanted to know more about steel guitars.
The only thing that bothers me about the SX is their pickup and thats why I was wondering to replace the pickup..
had some ideas, but don't know for sure what could work...

(btw - I'm not a technical expert on guitars - thats why I'm asking you guys:)

The style I play is rocknroll, country and garage orientated, it would be nice If i could get more sustain and a higher output with less humm..don't know if the examples I got are possible for this lapsteel guitar... but ye know, just asking:)

some examples:

Hope you guys can help me, would really appreciate it, thx anyways!

I'm not too fond of the Lace pickups myself, they sound sterile to me. I'd recommend the Duncan Little '59, had one of those in a Strat I converted to lap steel and really liked it:

I've also heard good things about the Duncan JB Jr and Li'l Screamin' Demon, but haven't tried any of them myself.

Lace just might not fit - I don't know, a few people here have those lap steels. Thanks for pics. 8)

Anyway, a Fender Hot Noiseless might be what your looking for, in form and fit, and sound anyway.

Think I'm not going for the Lace but for a fender pick-up, only problem with the Hot Noiseless is that it comes in a pickup set (only need one).

Still searching, perhaps the little '59 is an idea...don't know if that one will fit. We'll see,
thx again
