Ok, so my band is trying to write our first song, but I have come to somewhat of a musicians block. If there was a short break in the music and then the bass picked up...bass tabstabs below...what would sound good over the bass? I can't seem to find the right guitar chords to go over that...any help is very much appriciated

Can you tell me the names of the notes?
That would be the best place to start.
Maybe this would help
Sure, in the same order as the tabs, it goes...
A-A-A-A-A--B-A-B-A
G-G-G-G-G--A-G-A-G
F-F-F-F-F--F-G-F-G
(open) E-E-E-E-E--G#G#-G#-G#
those are the notes...i think I did it right...
What type of style are you playing? Blues, rock, grunge etc....
What tuning are you using?
Is it slow or fast?
Edit- You just posted. You are in Standard tuning.
Um...all the instruments are in standard tuning...the guitar is in EADGBE and we are playing rock (geared a little towards punk) and the song isnt slow...its not really fast either...its like...in between

try Am, G, F, E-G#m
try Am, G, F, E-G#m
Or hold the E chord with both the E and the G#
Or, even nicer, play E7 (E7#9 is better yet) over the G#
Peace
I tried E5 and A5
