Well, I have lyrics now, how do create music from them? I always end up at a dead end here. I can create music, I can create lyrics, I can't create them both together. It is really quite annoying.

8) 8) I feel your pain :!: I do better when I write something on the guitar first, get a groove going, then I come up with the words and melody at the same time more or less. Some times I will come up with a phrase or just an idea watching T.V. or at work and put them together with a guitar riff i have been working on, more than one way to pluck a chickin or play a G chord!

I can't write lyrics unless a have some sort of idea what it's going to sound like.......if I'm feeling a bit down, I tend to write in a bluesy vein....If I'm feeling upbeat, I write something that's more uptempo, lots of jangly chords...frustrated, slower and heavier.....feeling really good, lyrics tend to be a bit, well, soppy and maybe fingerpicked chords.....

The point I'm trying to make is that I can only write according to the mood I'm in, I couldn't write a blues piece if I was feeling good.....but the music sort of comes hand in hand with the lyrics for me, whatever the song is about.....

If you write lyrics first, then try to set them to music, try singing the lyrics and then fitting your music around the melody.....

Best piece of advice I was ever given, write about what you know....so my songs are about me, the way I was feeling at the time, the way I'd like to feel, the way I used to feel......

Anyway, no one ever said we shouldn't suffer for our art.......!!!

Good luck........
