I like it nick, reckon it sounds like the chorus to a sleazy swamp blues/rock song. from that point of view i would say 'the things we DO at night', suggests your getting up to mischief... though it works fine as is, and suggests (to me) a grop of guys getting together in vegas, drinking to much and spilling their woes to each other. so i gues it depends on whether it was a dirty weekend in vegas or just a weekend of alcohol fueled excess.

He makes a good point this could be about some guys having a little too
much fun or it could get very bawdy and/or criminal.
I think "the things we show/do at night" would depend very much on how the verses were written.
