I play bass as a second intsrument, but i am assuming you don't play guitar at all :?: First they have a bass forum here that looks pretty good. I would go out and take some lessons real fast, or start looking on the net for lessons. In my first band (1971) our lead guitarist taught the bass player how to play as we went along, he was a fast study so that turned out ok  Then you will want to Eat, sleep, go to the bathroom with your bass guitar, practice a lot (have your folks pass you your meals under your bed room door  ( i am assuming you live at home) Try downloading midi files to practice with, you can download a midi program called "anvil studio" for free and it will let you take out the bass part so you can make your own practice tracks (its real easy to use)--

Most of all don't give up!! good bass players are hard to find 8) 8) so if you learn to play well you will always have a band that needs your skills :D :D ----the dog

hi. acoustic and electric guitar(but not professional, nope, just fooling around)

got one possibly very dumb question: what's the difference between an electric and an acoustic guitar(apart from the amp and the way you can tune(?) the sound with the buttons on the amp and the few ones on the guitar)?????
I might not see a big difference because I'm no real good player but to me they both have 6 strings and a fretboard....

please don't laugh at me if I just made a fool of myself

Mainly the sound , asoustic guitars are made to be played with out amplification ( they have a sound cavity of some kind). Electrics can be solid wood ( or not)and don't make alot of sound without amplification and have single or double coil pickups. (most of them anyway). Other than that not alot of difference :D :D --the dog
