This week I had all these good ideas, but it wouldn't come out right at all. I just couldn't find a good way to say what I was trying to say, but this is what I got. I should probably have given it more time, but I was just so frustrated because it wouldn't come out right. It's about a girl, who uses acting and getting on stage as a chance to escape from her own life, so we she wouldn't have to face the boring facts of it. Like she would set the sky on fire it would give her a slight change of pace from her daily routines and the choices she has to make. It's obviously all metaphorical, but I think it transfers nicely to familiar issues. To me, at least.

[A-verse]
Sometimes it's easier, but then sometimes it's not.
And getting up is hard to do, when feathers feel like rock
It might rain today or it might not
If I could, I'd set the sky aflame to face anything but this

[chorus]
Put your makeup on, little girl
When that bright light hits your eyes
Catch that plane or grow those wings
So you can get away

[A-verse]
But the things that you fear in the dark will come once it's gone
You'd be butterflies and unicorns, but only when it's on
You will go home tonight and cry yourself to sleep
Illusions might be pretty, but they won't be very deep

[bridge]
She convinces herself, it's good because it's numb
to feel nothing is better than to feel at all
She says, through her tears
To be anyone at all
Is better than to be left with yourself

[chorus]
Put your makeup on, little girl
When that bright light hits your eyes
Catch that plane or grow those wings
So you can get away

[B-verse]
Open your eyes, who are you today
No matter how long you run
You'll face yourself some way

When life is scripted, choices are easier
But when you hide for too long
It's hard to find your own voice

[chorus]
So wear your mask, little girl
So you can try to fade away
Catch that plane or grow those wings
But I'd choose myself any day

[Out]
When she's blinded by that bright light,
Her troubles fade away,
It's just a mirror,
To keep herself at bay

Behold! The great northern viking's pinnacle of evolution! Behold my wavy blonde locks, my icy blue eyes and my muscular physique! Behold my.. screw this, I'm going to McDonald's.

I LIKE SOME OF THE WORDS IN THIS. I WASN'T SURE IF YOU WERE HAVING A HARD TIME DECIDING WHICH SONG TO WRITE (ALMOST SOUNDS AT TIMES LIKE A COUPLE OF SONGS MIXED TOGETHER), OR MAYBE IT'S JUST ME. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TYPE OF RYTHMN OR MELODY YOU'RE GOING FOR BUT SINCE YOU SEEMED LIKE YOU WERE ASKING FOR HELP I FIGURED I'D OFFER SOME.

Sometimes it's easier, but then sometimes it's not.
And getting up is hard to do, when feathers feel like rock
It might rain today or it might not
If I could, I'd set the sky aflame to face anything but this

WOULD SOMETHING LIKE THIS WORK TO FOLLOW THE RYTHMN I'M GETTING FROM THE FIRST COUPLE OF LINES?

SOMETIMES IT'S EASIER, BUT THEN SOMETIMES IT'S NOT
AND GETTING UP IS HARD TO DO WHEN FEATHERS FEEL LIKE ROCK
IF I COULD I'D SET THE SKY AFLAME
JUST TO KEEP THE DAYS FROM BEING ALL THE SAME

AGAIN I'M NOT SURE OF YOUR WRITING STYLE SO I DON'T WANT TO
IMPOSE MY OWN ON YOU, SO JUST LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT ANYMORE SUGGESTIONS. I THINK YOU CAN HAVE A GOOD SONG HERE. I DEFINITELY LIKE WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO SAY.

wow, i like it. only thing that i wasnt sure about is that the second a-verse rhymes but the first one doesn't, but maybe it wouldnt be the same if it wasnt like that. i mean, im don't know much about songwriting yet but i still reckon its really really good!
