ok so the second song ive posted
im not quite sure if its as strong as the first one but o well well see
the inspiration came when i was in weights class( ys weights class im only 16 and sitll in high school so we have to do that sort of thing) we sat down to talk about nutrition and how the mental picture the media portrays of "good health" may not actually be so healthy . that got me thinking about how people look at these pictures on magazines and try to live up to that image portrayed and eventually realizing that that image is almost impossible to achieve and being happy wiht what you are. so my song isnt exactly from that i ended up kind of going of a little bit but i still stay pretty close to that idea.but if u look closely enough ull see where i went with it so without further talking

Pacefully Sound
by Spencer Beasley copyright 2005

Ive dreamt of stars and gotten scars
Ive imagined mars and been so marred
when everything seemed so meaningless
Ive forgotten dreams and long lost schemes
with societys picture on magazines
and everything just seems so meaningless

time refuses to let me forget
that my calls to god have not returned yet
is it to early to pause and reflect on time gone by
or will i continue to go down the wrong roads
slipping thru the cracks and forming the mold
that i plan to hold when my current one folds.....

So cast another line into the sea
in hopes that i might catch the dream
the false hope that you will remember me
cuz ive been casted out and casted down
submerged six feet beneath the ground
lucky end for them or you im now peacefully sound

well ive won a few and lost alot
and ive sat the bench more often than not
and everything seems so meaningless
well now ive moved on from the past
the good nights good thoughts i knew wouldnt last
still everything seems so meaningless

time refuses to let me forget
that my calls to god have not returned yet
is it to early to pause and reflect on time gone by
or will i continue to go down the wrong roads
slipping thru the cracks and forming the mold
that i plan to hold when my current one folds.....

So cast another line into the sea
in hopes that i might catch the dream
the false hope that you will rememeber me
cuz ive been casted out and casted down
submerged six feet beneath the ground
lucky end for them or you im now peacefully sound

So cast another line into the sea
in hopes that i might catch the dream
the false hope that you will rememeber me
cuz ive been casted out and casted down
submerged six feet beneath the ground
lucky end for them or you im now peacefully sound

and thats actually how i might perform it i hope to get an mp3 up on my site for those who want to listen im not

I really like this one Bean.. Actually moreso than the last. There are a few typos you might want to go back and clean up but the meaning and words chosen are really great.

Hi Beans

The first two lines are stellar. They'll probably go into my "wish I'd written these" file! Maybe I'm just too into words and word play, but I'd like to make the suggestion of changing this:

when everything seemed so meaningless

to:

when everything seemed so mean and meaningless

It might not work, but I think it plays well into the picture you're painting.

Looking forward to reading more.

Peace

Beans,

I'm with David the opening line is definitely
a "Wish I Had Written That" contender

Also:So cast another line into the sea
in hopes that i might catch the dream

Very good and I may have neglected to welcome
you so I will now.

Welcome to SSG it's good to have you aboard.

ok for everyoe who cares i have a chord progression now, im currently working on getting an Mp3 up on my site but i need to go back to my house to do it, cuz im currently away right now cuz we have a broken AC. so heres the progression im not sure of a couple of te names of the chords so ill jsut write out the diagram of it such as g being 320033 ect. Ive also taken davids suggestyion and changed the meaningless to mean and meaningless GREAT IDEA i loved it.

[G}ive dreamt of stars and gotten scars
[x87088] ive imagined mars and been so marred
[C9} when everythign seemed so mean and meaningless [G]
[G] ive forgotten dreams and long lost schemes
[x87088] with societys picture on magazines
[C9] still everythign seems so mean and meaningless [G]

that progression repeats throughout the bridge and the second verse

the chorus has a little different more simple cowboy chord form until the end
when i use some weird chords

[Em7] So cast another line into the sea
[C9] in hopes that i might catch the dream
[G] the false hope that you might rememebr me
[Em7] cause ive been casted out and casted down
[C9] submerged six feet beneath the ground
[1x3010] lucky end for them or you im[7x778x] now peacefully sound

then back to the verses ill get an Mp3 up soon and im thinking of putting an octave solo in after i sing the chorus a second time im not sure yet though well see how it goes.
