'Bout time I managed to get a bit of time. And a great week to ease back into things. Thanks for that, Nick.

I think that "Sober Enough to Remember Your Number (and drunk enough to call)" could work out well.
Don't know how long that one's been rattling around in the brain. Certainly tailor-made for a country tune.

I too like "drunk enough', but Kankakee grabbed me for some reason, and "its never nothing' is intriguing.
Falling in love is like learning to play the guitar; first you learn to follow the rules, then you learn to play with your heart.
I like songs that use town names for some reason. And since I just got done using "Champaign, Illinois" by Old 97s as a lesson for one of my adult group classes, I was kind of in an Illinois frame of mind. "Peoria" sounds too much like "Victoria!"
I know it's jumping the gun, but I was taken enough with "It's Never Nothing" to piece together a possible chorus:
Now I can't tell you much
But I can tell you something
When she tells you "nothing's wrong"
You can be sure it's never nothing
Maybe the title should be "more rules about living with someone!"
Peace
Picked up on that "living with someone" vibe right away!
Now I can't tell you much
But I can tell you one thing
When she tells you "nothing's wrong"
You know it's always somethng.
An alternate chorus maybe?
On of my titles that I rejected was "it's always something"
it morphed into "one thing or another"
