The SSG - 02/05/11

The SSG is an eye-opener for me.
I'm learning such a lot.
I now write my e-mail addy backwards
so it won't be gobbled up
by a big bad bot.
Before I signed up to the SSG,
I thought
an avatar was the manifestation
of a deity- a divine teacher.
Now I know it's not.
It's a tiny picture
of what you'd like other people
to think you actually are.
It's an alter-ego - a flower,
a cow, a spaceman, a clown.
It's a twitching little monkey
with a tiny guitar.
I wanted to be an eagle
for the SSG.
An eagle is proud, and fierce
and lovely. An eagle
is truly me.
But the SSG
kept telling me
that my eagle URL was invalid.
So my new avatar
is a cartoon woman. Alas!
Compared to the real me,
she's pallid.
Darn! I wanted to be that eagle
and I had to settle for her.
OK. If that's the way it has to be,
my SSG name
can be 'Grrr'!
