I want a Monday sundae with you, my friend

I need a Monday sundae every now and then

Hi James,
Nice change of pace and just plain fun. Love the way you treated the chorus. I'm thinking it's Wednesday. Can I make one modification to your song and go out and get a sundae today? Just an aside . . . . . a few years ago I was traveling in Montana and passed a small Baptist church that had a sign in front, "Carvel's okay, but you should try our Sundae Service"
Neil
Hi Neil,
I'm thinking it's Wednesday.
Yes, the song is more effective when sung on Monday's than Wednesdays.....but I still hum along to Manic Monday and Ruby Tuesday on other days of the week
go out and get a sundae today
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure I understand where this would work in.....as is, it would conflict with the message b/c the singer is singing to a specific singee inviting him/her to spend time together (on a Monday morning)......go out and get a sundae today.....seems a general statement to the public to buy ice cream
"Carvel's okay, but you should try our Sundae Service"
clever
Thanks for the listen and feedback. :D
James
Nicely done. How about doing it as a reggae?
Do you know the history of how it became known as a "sundae"? A number of places take credit for it.
including Evanston, IL.
Evanston, IL was one of the first locations to pass a blue law against selling ice cream sodas in 1890. "Some ingenious confectioners and drug store operators in Evanston obeyed the law, by serving ice cream with the syrup of your choice but without soda. This complied with the law.

I hadn't thought of that. I'll see how time friendly the rest of the week is to play around.

I didn't know those facts....interesting. It seems strange now, but that was back when Coke had cocaine.....yes? So maybe there was a lot more going on at those soda shops
Thanks for the listen and lesson

Love the reggae version. Fun. The cornet sound at the end added a lot to it.
Love the reggae version.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestion on style :D
