Before anyone asks - No, this song has nothing to do with MJ.
Thanks.

Imagery Words

Bury, demons, RIP, haunted, fear, tears, tortured, tormented, Lonesome Valley, mercy.

Soldier Child

Verse
I bury the demons in my head,
Take refuge from your calling,
Let the deed be done and over,
To Rest In Peace, my longing.
In my world you haunted me
From your pulpit of height and might,
You took the colour from my life,
With your prayers of black and white

Chorus:
I fought the secret battle, with fear, hate and tears,
The soldier child you tortured, tormented and abused,
I will have my victory, when Judgment Day is here
You will plead for mercy, when your conscience sends for you.

Verse
With delusion and confusion,
You showed me your way,
To the Valley of the Lonesome,
For you I have to pray.
I will hear your last confession,
Your testament of shame,
I'll bear your cross no longer,
And you will bear the blame.

Chorus:
I fought the secret battle, with fear, hate and tears,
The soldier child you tortured, tormented and abused,
I will have my victory, when Judgment Day is here
You will plead for mercy, when your conscience sends for you.

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record.

You have 3 minutes to write down things you would see or hear in a horror movie.

Imagery in this case is a thing.

bury, demons, RIP, haunted, fear, tears, tortured, tormented, Lonesome Valley, mercy.

So modifying your list:

funeral, hearse, grave, wreaths, black, pall bearers
* demons is fine
RIP, headstone, tombstone
Ghost, spirit, spectre, poltergeist, apparition
*tears is fine
torture chamber, iron maiden, the rack, hot coals
---torment I can't figure out any alternatives

Lonesome valley, doesn't really fit unless you are talking about a geographical location.  If you are talking about being alone:
cold, echo

mercy you can't physically see, touch or smell, how else can you describe it?

You have the basis for a good lyric, but you have very little imagery.  See what you can come up with.

You actually have more imagery in there than you think, pulpit and cross for example.

The lyrics move really nicely and nothing really tripped me up.  Yeah your list was a bit sparse but it worked.
