OK. I fell in love with The Celt's piece from last week. So that's the one I chose for this assignment. Although, switching the song from first to third person is little more than swapping pronouns, isn't it? You could almost do it with a global search / replace. I changed a couple other tiny bits, to help the flow, but not much really. I dunno if that constitutes "groaning", or if it's a testament to the Celt's writing. Or maybe both. But here it is.

Pocket Full Of Dreams

(Chorus )

He's got a pocket full of dreams
And a suitcase full of sorrow
Gonna pack his old guitar
And head off for tomorrow
Tonight he'll drink a final toast
To the way things use to be
And see how far a man can get
On a pocket full of dreams

(Verse 1)

When he told her he was leavin'
she didn't hear a word
she just kept believin'
All that gossip that she heard
he wasn't sure just how their love
Somewhere came off the track
But tommorrow he'll be on his way
And he ain't looking back

(Chorus)

(Verse 2)

He told Jimmy down there at the bar
where to send his mail
And if there's anything He's left behind
she'll put it up for sale
He gave her all the best he had
In Life or so it seemed
And all he has left for himself
Is that pocket full of dreams

(Chorus)

-- Scratch 8)

Hi Scratch,

Thank you for choosing my work.
I posted the finished piece just before I went to bed last night so was a pleasent surprise to see your rewrite this morning.
You did a really fine job with the assignment beyond just changing pronouns.
I like your take on the piece

Good work
