SSG5 week 4
I have spent the whole week drawing a blank on coming up with something. Then it hit me today what to write about..(yyeeii, go muse!! :D ) so here it is. I wrote it in about 2 hours so I am sure rewrites will be necessary. Suggestions and ideas are always appreciated. I am open for suggestions for a title also
Blessings.
Olav
V1
We used to be quite a pair
You were with me everywhere
loyal trough thick and thin
Deeply rooted to withstand the winds
V2
I used to carry you with pride
Gently stroked to the side
Making sure nothing covered you up
‘cause I had the greatest top
Pre Chorus:
I never thought you could leave
But then you started to recede
I fought inevitable with all my power
But the evidence is in the shower
Chorus:
Receding faded and thin
I'm fighting a fight I cannot win
Now all I got
Is thinning and gray, surrounding a bald spot
This life is not fair
My God….My God… I'm missing my hair
V3
Desperate I fought the fight
Squirting Rogaine day and night
Sought advice from quakes and forces
Glued on hair from Arabian horses
Pre Chorus:
I never thought I'd need a plug
And my pride refused a rug
My self-esteem is crushed
Seeing the evidence hanging on my brush
Chorus:
Receding faded and thin
I'm fighting a fight I cannot win
Now all I got
Is thinning and gray, surrounding a bald spot
This life is not fair
My God….My God… I'm missing my hair
Hi Olav,
Interesting take on the assignment, I enjoyed the thanks. Definitely feels like a light hearted look at an age old condition. I'm hearing “Centerfold†by the J Giles band here.
Well done
Cheers
Paul
Hi
Yeah I agree with Pbee J Giles band for sure ...
This song I can really relate to { being bald and all }
I once wrote a song along the same lines I titled mine
"Where are you now "
Yep a very good take on the assignment indeed ..
The only line I can't get to work for me is :
Is thinning and gray, surrounding a bald spot
But I 'm sure when you sing it ...it sounds alright ....
Cheers
Trev...
Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
Great take on the topic, very amusing.....
I'm one of those lucky people who still has a full head of hair at, oh, pushing 50.....some of the Mrs' pet names for me are Yeti, Hairy Monster, Mr Brambles (she does NOT like my beard....) so I can only sympathise with your plight.....
Like the song, as others said, just needs a little tidying-up....
:D :D :D
