they were talking about hockey
and the olympics
and all the great athletes
who had come to italy
to win a gold medal
or maybe a silver
they were poking fun at buddha
how he couldn't enjoy it
what with all of the medals
and their material attachment
he kinda liked hockey
cause of the contact
and the chance of a bench brawl
christ said we should go to turino
make an an appearance
we'll do it together
we'll show everyone that we are friends
that we have the same interests
and the same feelings
about stopping the fighting
the prophets walked around turino
tried to talk to the people
but nobody noticed
they all watched the athletes
looking for medals
trying their hardest
occasionally falling
so they spent their time eating pasta
where nobody noticed
all the wine they were drinking
muhammad looked around and asked
do you see any fighting
the people are so happy
here at the olympics
buddha joined jesus and muhammad
they watched all the hockey
and most of the skiing
and some of the bobsled
but none of the medals
even with their omnipresents
cause of the attachment

some people your story line is great. Like Saber
though I'm having a hard time hearing a melody

worked out a simple little riff for the song, tried to elaborate but couldn't get anything to work, any suggestions would be helpful.
when i wrote this i had dan bern's song jerusalem running through my head, i've been trying to get away from his melody and syllable stress but i'm not sure if i was sucessful or not, if anyone who listens to this song and has heard jerusalem could comment it would be much appeciated, or even if someone has comments on that method of writing, using anothers song as a template and then changing the stress and melody, thanks.
no offence intended with this song, just sort of thought that jesus and muhammad would chum around with each other in heaven, i mean who else are they going to hang out with, and who wouldn't like a trip to the olympics, sorry if i offended.
