My first submssion in a reeeeaaaallly long time. In fact no one even replied to my last one (it sucked but that's still rude).

It's about Bob Dylan playing the Jimi Hendrix version of "ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER" (Best song ever!!!!!!!!!).

Here goes:

Verse 1( i may put in an intro verse before this cos i'd like to make the beginning more interesting)
[Punk rock style slightly muted power chords]
All along the watchtower....
we were watching
For no ordinary rockstar....
just waiting for
To listen to some music....
dad said it's making
Me and you sick....

But still...

Pre-Chorus [1] (this is more talked in tune rather than actually sung)
[Bassline plays with drums]
Then came the spotlight
We waited for the show
I wasn't really ready
For how it was to go....
'Cos

Chorus ( sung from the gut, of course)

Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_setup)
Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_concluded)
Yeah, yeah

Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_setup)
Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_concluded)
electric (power chord on tremolo)
electric (power chord on tremolo)

Verse 2 (needs work, i know but i had to come up with this in two minutes as i was submitting this song which originally had just one verse)

I was hooked into total submission
Decided this was my new religion

I couldn't keep myself from screaming
Thought that I must've been dreaming

'Cos

Chorus

Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_setup)
Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_concluded)
Yeah, yeah

Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_setup)
Dylan went electric (sexy guitar riff_concluded)
electric (power chord on tremolo)
electric (power chord on tremolo)

[[And a solo somewhere in the middle of all that]]

A handful of quarters, and a naked song, don't answer the question of where we belong.

hi voodoochild;)

it's horrible getting no replies...I've been through this a few times, too(but lately I seem to always get some answers*yay*)
anyway this time you'll get one: here I am;)

don't know the song you're talking about, sorry

I love the chorus(although there is not much to love, just 4 different words  ) but I really love it:))) and I can imagine it quite well.

I like the first 2 lines of your 2nd verse(which you found needs work??) more than the last two lines of your first verse...I dunno why

anyway a good song, I think:)

thanks for the feedback

the chorus does really have to be heard than read
and the last two lines of the first verse are weak (any suggestions :?: )

but this should sound good/(not vomit inducing) when i finally get a a band to play it

although the song would have an effect(if any) only on people who know the dylan and hendrix versions of the song, it kinda does need the music to overshadow the lyrics a little bit

again thanks for the feedback

alright...hm...what about something to do with the volume, turn it up don't care that it makes them sick?

All along the watchtower....
we were watching
For no ordinary rockstar....
just waiting for
To listen to some music....
volume up, don't care
that it makes them sick....

or

see him appear
to our guns we stick...
(now that makes no sense at all...with 'to our guns we stick' I meant 'blowing in the wind'...hm...maybe another line instead of 'see him appear'?)

anyway, you'll get it right someday, I'm sure
bye

I still think Hendrix's version of All Along The Watchtower is one of the best things he ever did....

There's nothing wrong with this at all, but if you think you rushed it, you can always work on it more....

You could even throw the Watchtower riff in there somewhere...it's been done before - ever heard Nazareth's "Shanghai'd in Shanghai?" There's a line there that goes "Mister we got a gig in Arizona, 2nd billing to the Rolling Stones" .....and then they play the "Satisfaction" riff for a couple of bars.......
