Hi everybody,
Haven't actually post a song in a few weeks to SSG. I tried really hard this week to work this assignment but everytime I tried to come up with something that fit, this is what I kept coming back to.
My friends husband passed away awhile ago and this is my impression of what he'd say to her if he could. His unanswered prayer?
As always, all comments appreciated. G. :)
Sleep To Dream
© Gwynne 2005
I saw you crying
As you watched over me
Guardian angel
Til my soul was set free
I'll take memories
To my promised land
Teardrops on my cheek
My face in your hands
Chorus
Don't look to me I'll be around
I'm not lost and can be found
Just close your eyes, heavens between
I'll come to you, sleep to dream
Kiss on your pillow
Warm breeze in the air
Whisper on your neck
I'm with you everywhere
For now I'll live with
Only one regret
Saying “I love youâ€
So you'll never forget
Chorus
Bridge
I never wanted to leave you like this
Give anything for one last kiss
We'll be together again and banish this curse
But I know you have things to finish here first (Thanks, John!)
Chorus
Rocketgirl
This song has a similar theme as your song Say Goodbye
in the Songwriters Club.
(By the way I recomend that everybody check that one out)

I like the Chorus:
Don't look to me I'll be around
I'm not lost and can be found
Just close your eyes, heavens between
I'll come to you, sleep to dream
As my wifes Supervisor/Friend/Mentor recently said:
" Just because somebody dies it doesn't mean they go away"
One thought on the Bridge:
We'll be together again and banish this curse
There's just a few thing I have to do first
Seeing how your narrator has "Passed On" as they say
maybe it should read something like:
We'll be together again and banish this curse
But I know you have things to finish here first
Take Care
John
PS I think this fits the assignment very well
Nice post to reach full membership with....bit like bringing up your century by hitting a six....
I like it, it's sentimental without being mawkish, reads well, nice imagery, fits the assignment....
Nice job!!!

John,
This song has a similar theme as your song Say Goodbye
in the Songwriters Club
Yeah, it's time for me to move on. Maybe do something happy! :?
I love your suggestion on the bridge, I am going to change it. Thank you!
Vic,
it's sentimental without being mawkish
I was kinda worried about that so your feedback is great. Thank you!
