I haven't heard the word "davenport" since about then....... I liked everything but the chorus. Don't know why I am such a b*tch about chorus this week. Loved the instrumental lead, great riff.
Hi John,
I haven't heard the word "davenport" since about then....... I did have to double check that it fit the time frame...and it did
Regarding the chorus, I'm ok with it, but I'm not married to it, so I'm open to alternatives....I had some fun adding a few more bells and whistles....or to be more accurate harmonies and bass line 8)
Thanks for the listen and post.
James
I think it works. It's got a good, early era Punk vibe to it.

"I wonder if a composer ever intentionally composed a piece that was physically impossible to play and stuck it away to be found years later after his death, knowing it would forever drive perfectionist musicians crazy." - George Carlin
Hi Roy,
Thanks for the listen and post :D

Now that was fun!
I didn't really think of the chorus as a chorus as much as a bridge or a "B" section for the music, if you will. Musically there's more of a shift than a "build up moment" and it just didn't feel like a "everybody join in" sort of moment. I found myself hoping that the second pass through it would have slightly different lyrics, kind of like the two different bridges in "Nowhere Man" which are musically the same but lyrically different.
But I'm not sure I would change anything, for that matter. This is a great song and a great arrangement (love the drums, especially at the very beginning with an almost typical early pop "am I supposed to start now?" kind of feel) - I suspect that wasn't as easy to play (or program) as it came off.
Looking forward to more.
Peace

I agree. Labeling it a B section would be more appropriate.
I suspect that wasn't as easy to play (or program) as it came off.
That one was an easy drop and drag. The bass line took me the longest since I am not a keyboard player, I had to type in the notes and copy n' paste instead of playing live.
Thanks for the listen and post. :D
