Hi there! Am currently trying to catch up on the assignments ...
Here goes an attempt at the "seasoning" task:
tree food
we've been seasoning our bland noons with junk food
we've been securing our weak-willed ship with american series
but my stomach is half-empty, so i've written a grocery list
bring 2 apples, 3 bananas (we'll split)
and a pound of cherries
then come meet me at the chestnut tree
turn west at the playground
let's say just before the sun goes down
in all her glorious armour of the habitually defeated
and we'll climb a tree for the first time
bringing all our favourite stories to life
and we'll pretend the apples, bananas and cherries
were all growing on our chestnut tree
bring 2 apples, 3 bananas and cherries
for our appbachetree
and i'll tell you the story of a boy
who once spent a whole week
preparing a walk home
past the seven sights of the forest,
of his paper box supplies up the best tree
and of his disappointment
and you'll tell me the story of a girl
who once threaded wild strawberries
onto grass stems
up in the garden's highest tree
with a bruise on her knees while her family
was looking for her everywhere
And, because it was inspired by this task, here's a 40-second song for all you people how keep telling me to sit down and actually come up with some music, too :D Be gentle though, it's just a fun little snippet (I hope), nothing elaborate or perfect.
Edit: haha, guess what, you'll get two for one this time, here's me with tree food!
Cheers,
straycat.

Hi Straycat,
"appbachetree" That's a great new word! Maybe it could be the title.
Lot's of clever lines...I particularly like these:
we've been seasoning our bland noons with junk food
in all her glorious armour of the habitually defeated
I also like the setup of
and i'll tell you the story of a boy
and you'll tell me the story of a girl
Thanks for sharing the mp3s as well :D I can hear the influence of some of the bands you've posted previously. Was there someone with you recording in one take or was that all you on multi-tracks?
James
:-D thanks, James!
I can hear the influence of some of the bands you've posted previously.
yay! a bit of Akiine in there, right? i hope. ;-)
and, nope, it's just me (and all my instruments, real and imagined.. but no xylophone.. i have to get one soon! :D ) on all the tracks
thank you so much for listening!
cheers,
straycat.
