Trees. Um, yeah. Interesting topic I guess. This is a sappy teenage pop ballad.

===========================================

Acorn(y) Song
-------------------

When we were young I used to come around here
Laughing, joking, yeah those were such good years
The only thing I wanted was to know you
Now you spend your days locked up in that bedroom
Avoiding life, but every flower must bloom
The only thing I want is just to show you

[chorus]
With this little acorn sitting in my hand
I'm gonna plant a tree in the middle of your back yard
No matter how long it takes
I'll be knocking at your window pane
Climbing up and edging out along the branch
Risking life and limb to hold you by the hand
No matter how long it takes
I'll be counting down the days

In my memory you were so good-natured
How can you prosper in such a cold world?
Don't you crave the soft green grass below you?
Now there are other girls but I'm single-minded
Sensed a good thing, won't stop till I find it
The only thing I want is just to show you

With this little acorn sitting in my hand
I'm gonna plant a tree in the middle of your back yard
No matter how long it takes
I'll be knocking at your window pane
Climbing up and edging out along the branch
Risking life and limb to hold you by the hand
No matter how long it takes
I'll be counting down the days

And one day you'll see how much I've grown
Stop thinking you're fine all on your own
Look out of the window see the sun
Dancing on those leaves

With a little acorn sitting in my hand
I planted up a shoot in the middle of your back yard
And through the wind and rain
This mighty oak tree came
I climbed on up and edged along the branch
You opened up and stretched out your hand
I was shouting out your name
So glad to see your face again

[repeat main chorus]

This is a sappy teenage pop ballad.
Maybe more like a senior citizen pop ballad...those trees take a long time to grow. :P

Good start :D It only calls for the listener to disregard the element of time to be believeable, but it's a nice sentiment....."I'm here for you....I am waiting for you....it reads a bit whimiscal tongue and cheek....like an Owl City type of song....and that's a good thing

Suggestion: on the write, the chorus seems quite long and it seems a bit unusual to have it only 2 times in the song, but it could be working depending on the music.
