Hi All,
Don't have a lot of time this week so I rushed this one out. Looking forward to any comments and suggestions.

YOU CAN'T CHANGE ME
You're out in the sun
and you're starting to burn
you're not sure what can be done
but you know you've got to learn
there's safety in the shadows
that will help you to survive
though burning is sometimes good for you
it reminds you that you're alive
As long as we're together
in time you'll come to see
just like you can't change the weather
you'll come to know you can't change me
and when the wind is howling and causing a stir
and you can't stay on your feet
you don't know what you should do
and you're thinking retreat
you can't always go against the grain
you've got to follow the curve
sometimes you just follow the wind
to get what you deserve
As long as we're together
in time you'll come to see
just like you can't change the weather
you'll come to know you can't change me
and there are storms sure to be in our future
that will one day be in our past
how we handle it and what we do
will determine how we will last
things are the way they are
and there's not a lot we can do
once we can understand that
we'll find a way to make it through
As long as we're together
in time you'll come to see
just like you can't change the weather
you'll come to know you can't change me
I don't think I'd want to change you, Neil.....I enjoy your songs the way you do them! You've managed to carve out your own little niche, got your own distinctive sound, and though some of your songs do sound a little similar, there are always a few nice subtleties to catch the ear. In this one, I particularly like the chord changes in the bridge.
Nicely written, good hook, catchy - what more can I say? Keep 'em coming.........
:D :D :D

as I just said about Vic's Wk18 piece, this is a song I think could be reperformed in many different ways, with different amphases given to different bits making it very strong material. Actually, I've read/listened to this a bunch of times, but failed to comment because each time, I keep thinking of new ways to explore/develop it. its very pliable, and in a very good way.
