Kind of a semi autobiographical Folksy Blues Ghost Story .

Daddy's Guitar

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6598337

Sometimes in the night I hear Daddy's guitar
Sometimes in the night I hear Daddy's guitar
Playing underneath the moon
Those same old Woody Guthrie tunes
Sometimes in the night I hear Daddy's guitar

Sometimes in the morning I hear Mama cry
Sometimes in the morning I hear Mama cry
Sobbing Johnny why'd you die so young
Left me with two young girls and an infant son
Sometimes in the morning I hear Mama cry

And sometimes in the night she hears Daddy's guitar
Sometimes in the night she hears Daddy's guitar
Playing underneath the moon
Those same old Woody Guthrie tunes
Sometimes in the night she hears Daddy's guitar

Sometimes I can hear my sisters sing
Sometimes I can hear my sisters sing
All about them Deportees
And then a little Goodnight Irene
Sometimes I can hear my sisters sing

Sometimes in the night they hear Daddy's guitar
Sometimes in the night they hear Daddy's guitar
Playing underneath the moon
Those same old Woody Guthrie tunes
Sometimes in the night they hear Daddy's guitar

Sometimes in the night we hear Daddy's guitar
Sometimes in the night we hear Daddy's guitar
Playing underneath the moon
Those same old Woody Guthrie tunes
Sometimes in the night we hear Daddy's guitar

Nailed it. Well and truly nailed it.

Love the way the focus shifts, but at the same time it stays on the same theme.

Looking forward to hearing this one, John!

:D :D :D

But he can still spell , :) :) Ok now to John's Song :)

John ,

This is very good mate , very powerful lyrics and very beautifully written ...

At first read I got the tune of Ronan Keating's ,"Tomorrow Never Comes " here is a link to it

I will agree with my English mate and say " I would love to hear " ?

What sort of music if any do you have in mind John ?

Cheers
Trev..:)

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am

Hi John,

Really loved the song and the MP3! My only thoughts are that I would love to hear a bridge . . . . just something to break it up a bit and add a little extra zing. I love Woody and this music is really true to it's roots.

Good work, my friend!

Neil

That was purely intentional maybe someday I'll revisit this a make a little more
polished. For now I like the rough sound and the simple structure

I love the guitar work.
Beautiful sounding. Reminded me of early Bob Dylan.
I'm going to teach my fingers how to do that someday.

BTW, the hi-fi option on SoundClick wasn't working for me - I listened with lo-fi.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
