I was reading Bish's post (Personal Update) and I thought maybe we should think about creating a forum called "personal Update". We have an ongoing section of members posting about personal health issues, family matters, job changes and other personal topics. #1...It would keep this kind of thing in one place. #2...Many of us have been here for a few years or more so its natural that we want to hear whats happening with other members. Of course it would have to be understood that its NOT a general discussion forum, but I think with most of the members it would not be a problem.Anyway...just a thought :wink:
Trick would be to keep it from being a "personal rant" page from time to time ("...I'm off my medication tonight and here's what I really think about..." :wink: )
It's certainly worth considering, but I think that we (the Mods) would want to have some guidelines set up before letting it launch.

Yeah, I agree. Thats why I thought "Personal Update" was a good tittle for this type of forum. Maybe put it directly under the "news" forum. Definitely NOT near the "Opinions" forum :lol:
Why not just make it a sticky thread in the News forum? That might control it. If folks start their own threads, we can merge them with the ongoing thread using the merge feature in the moderator controls (now that I know how to use it!) I merged two such threads from one member yesterday.
Besides, I'm not sure what I think about ten to 110 members sharing their lives in their very own thread in a personal forum. Just imagine the possibilities for Rahul's having his very own infinite thread about himself in a forum!
