Could we have a lesson on some simple Blues licks/riffs? There are a few on the Gibson site but they're all pretty advanced (or perhaps intermediate). I know it's essentially playing around with the pentatonic scale but it's always nice to have some ready-made licks to practice. Also some tips on bending/vibrato would be excellent. I'm going to see B.B. King live next month so I know I'm going to be itching to play in homage :) Thanks!
There are a few blues lessons already, though the majority are rhythm focused. There are a couple on soloing and slide playing.
Blues You Can Use is one book that comes highly recommended by many people (myself included). It is not an absolute beginner's book, more advanced beginner to intermediate level.
The author also has some additional lessons on his web page.

You can find lots and lots of free video lessons here too:
For at least the next week, I am going to be as busy as a Labour politician whose emails have been leaked, but if a blues lead lesson(s) is needed for the site, consider this my volunteering to handle the duties on it. I realise that it wont happen until after the OP's BB King gig, but I'm happy to contribute to the site however I can.
