Blues music is the basis of almost all guitar, yet the section on blues instruction is very limited.  I understand it isnt exactly the most extensively played music, but its still very important.  Maybe articles on putting feeling into blues improvising, or blues improvising in general, because its definitely an art to play blues sounds like, and not just play on the blues scale.

I would also recommend lessons on different types of blues, or at least differentiate between them in an article.  Electric, acoustic, slide, texas, chicago, old(leadbelly, robert johnson), integrated blues(blues/rock, blues/jazz).  Maybe prefered listening and studying under each topic.  Its good to know what type of music it is that you like and what its origins are.

I would also recommend a simpler explanation of 12 bar blues.  Give tab examples rather than just stating 5th 7th minor and major etc.  Make it so new blues players can understand.

Blues? Yes please.
Rock? Yes sir.

Music? Give me a guitar and I'll play.

Hi, Nathan,

It's a great idea.

As I'm sure you'll appreciate we are in the hands of our contributors, all of whom give their time here for free. We can never be all things to all people, and we cannot afford to ignore the beginner any more than the specialist, so it's a careful juggling act.

We're always on the lookout for new writers, so if you have an idea for an article, make sure it hasn't been written already and go for your life. Send details of the idea to Nick, and someone will proof it with you. Then you get your name in the newsletter.

Best,

A :-)

I still have one article I owe and edit.

Yes by all means send it to me and I'll gently edit or suggest direction/improvements.

I would write an article for you for sure. The only problem is that I dont know much about that stuff I just mentioned. Thats why I think it should be there, mainly because I want to learn it.  All I would be able to do is how to improvise blues without knowing a thing about theory(entirely on feeling), and I dont think that that is something you would want on your site.

Blues? Yes please.
Rock? Yes sir.

Music? Give me a guitar and I'll play.
